modern mama maternity clothes {from splurge to steal}

I had no idea that it was going to feel like almost none of my clothes fit me fairly early on in my pregnancy. I think I wasn’t even 16 weeks when I started wearing maternity jeans and the bump has been in full effect ever since then 😊

My mom keeps saying how lucky we are now to have such cute options for maternity clothes and I really think she’s right. How lucky that we have whole stores of trendy outfits made to fit us and our growing bump perfectly without compromising style or comfort. Not to mention a lot of classic faves that now offer maternity extensions to their typical selection.

Here are a few of my faves. Listed from splurge to steal:

Hatch

I found this one through Instagram and SO wish they had a store closer. Located in New York, this shop describes itself as a “collection of chic and timeless essentials for before, during and after pregnancy”. Their Instagram is really fun and trendy and makes you want one of everything. It is on the pricier side so getting an item here would be more of a splurge for me than some of the other options I’ve listed, but if you have an event and are looking for something to dress up a little more, or have to dress up for work and are having trouble finding in style options that still make you feel like the modern mama you are, Hatch would definitely be worth the splurge!

Pea in the Pod

If you’re looking to find clothes from well known designers that you already wear and love just with the amazing mama-to-be features like the belly band for denim then Pea in the Pod is a great place to start. I’ve also got a little welcome pack of baby and pregnancy related deals and coupons both from shopping online and then in the store which is always fun and a great way to try new baby products like diapers, wipes, bottles, etc. without having to spend all the money to do so. Some of my favorite items that I’ve found at Pea in the Pod also include dresses and maternity tops that can turn into nursing tops after baby girl is here. They have great sales so I would recommend going straight to the sale section first to see what you can find {if you’re not too tempted by the other cute displays on the way there}.

PinkBlush

Another Instagram find, PinkBlush is great for maternity items that are a little more targeted for specific events such as maternity shoots, family functions, weddings or baby showers where you want a ton of options for chic dresses that are going to show off your beautiful bump. I have my eye on a couple of lacy dress options from here for my shower coming up.

Gap

For classic everyday essentials gap is a great go to for maternity apparel. Since I’ve been pregnant all winter, Gap has been great for finding layering pieces that are both comfortable and easy to mix and match. I also find myself wearing my Gap tees to yoga a lot because the material is so stretchy and breathable.

Target

I mean who doesn’t LOVE Target?? Not only does target have cute pregnancy staples from cotton fitted dresses to athleisure wear, but their prices are almost always unbeatable especially if they happen to be having a sale. I got a plain black fitted dress from there for less than $10 {Yes, really!} and it is one of my favorite maternity outfits that can easily be dressed up with some killer shoes and jewelry or totally dressed down with a denim jacket and sneakers.
